HILL STAFF VIEWS: Bipartisan Super-Super Majority Says No on ACA Tax Subsidies Passage
(QUICK READ) — It almost never happens that three-quarters of all congressional aides surveyed agree that a highly controversial measure should or should not be passed by the Senate and House, then sent to the President for signature.
So the fact that 93 percent of all aides responding to CNCT Capitol Pulse’s survey said the extension of the Affordable Care Act Premium Tax Subsidies will not be approved by Congress and sent to President Donald Trump for signature.

On the Senate side, only 12.5 percent of aides to Democratic members said they expect the measure to approved and signed into law, compared to a mere four percent of the Republican aides. Thus, the total of optimists thinking it will become law equalled only 7 percent.
Among those who responded to the CNCT Capitol Pulse survey, 36 percent said they expect the measure to pass the House and then die in the Senate. But a much larger majority, 52 percent, of the respondents said the bill will be killed in the lower chamber.
Those saying the House will not approve it includes 53 percent of the Republican aides and 50 percent of the Democratic aides. Curiously, 73 percent of the Democrats under 30 predict death in the House.
