CONSIDER THIS: Four Proofs for the Resurrection of Jesus
Today is Good Friday, the day 2,000 years ago that Jesus Christ was tried and convicted in a kangaroo court in Jerusalem, tortured by Roman soldiers, then nailed to a cross by them and left to die.
But on Sunday, the tomb in which Jesus had been buried was empty and that’s when the most important fact of history began to be proclaimed – Jesus was dead when He was buried late Friday but now He is alive, resurrected and appearing to His small band of disciples and then to hundreds of people in Judea and Galilee.
The Pharisees had asked Jesus if He was God and He replied “Before Abraham was, I AM.” (See John 8:48-59). He had also claimed that “no man comes to the Father but through Me.” (See John 14:6). If He’s God and He says He is the only way to spend eternity in heaven, then what will you do with Him?
It all stands or falls on whether Jesus really was literally resurrected from the dead. As Paul said, if Jesus was not resurrected, then Christians are the biggest fools walking on the face of the Earth (See I Corinthians 15: 12-19).
So what about the evidence for the literal resurrection of Jesus Christ? In the following 2:19 video, investigative journalist and author Lee Strobel offers four solid reasons he came to the conclusion that Jesus is indeed alive today because He was literally resurrected from the dead:
