Why Is Jesus The Only Way To Heaven? GOOD QUESTION

It has been often said that you can mention the name of Buddha, or Allah, or one of the millions of Hindu deities, and nobody will get upset. But mention the name of Jesus Christ, and the reaction can often be one of dismissal, hostility or even anger.

Why is that? Likely it’s because Jesus alone claimed to be the only way to Heaven. It’s what He clearly stated multiple times in many different ways during His three-year ministry on Earth, and it is most distinctly said at John 14:6, a few days before His crucifixion:

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”

In the following video, three scholars and one renowned Christian apologist addresses the issue of why is Jesus the only way to Heaven:

“Is Jesus the only way to salvation for me?” is a question only I can answer.

How does that square with what Jesus tells us at John 6:44 when He says – “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.”?

God’s invitation to the sinner is gratuitous and personal. The sinner’s response is a voluntary act of conscience that no mortal may judge or gainsay.

We should worry more about getting to heaven and less about who we might find there.

And if we do run across someone there who doesn’t “belong”? Take it up with the management.

It may a question only you can answer, I agree. However, Jesus’ statement is relevant to you. He said no one, which is all inclusive so, if you’re a”one” it includes you. You can ignore his statement but you do so at great risk. There are several possibilities which could merit ignoring his statement. 1- he lied. Or 2 – he was crazy. However, there is no evidence in any historical records to support either of these conclusions . 3- it was translated wrong. However, if you would research the original languages (Aramaic & Greek) you would find that the translation is extremely accurate. So I would caution you in using this kind of logic. It you would use it to determine your behavior, you could do anything if you believed it was good for you including things that were detrimental to others. It’s a very dangerous slippery slope.
