TESTIMONIES: NASA Engineer Dr. Michael Houts’ Knowledge of Nuclear Science Led Him to Jesus
(NINE-MINUTE WATCH) — When Dr. Michael Houts college roommate showed him a paragraph declaring the material world is all there is to reality and that all living things came to be according to the evolutionary principal of natural selection, his immediate thought was “well, of course, that’s all true.” The paragraph concluded with the statement that no individual who refused to sign it should be allowed a scientific or engineering degree.

But then the roommate told him the paragraph was written by a philosophy professor at another school and that he, as a Christian, could not sign it. That’s when Houts realized the purpose of the paragraph was effectively to keep all non-materialists out of the professional fields in which he hoped to succeed.
Dr. Houts has succeeded admirably in various roles at NASA, and in the following 9:10 interview with Ex-Skeptic’s Jana Harmon he explains how what he learned as a scientist and engineer helped him see that atheism was in effect its own religion and that Christianity’s explanation for life is consistent with science.
