CONSIDER THIS: Where Is God? Maybe Closer Than You Think

Asking “where is God” likely seems for many men and women working on Capitol Hill as, at best, an irrelevant question or, at worst, evidence of the questioner being trapped in the ignorance and superstitions of the past. Such is almost the conventional wisdom for many walking the halls of Longworth, Russell and other congressional office buildings.

But stop for just a moment, get real honest with yourself, and admit that, yes, there continue to be times (no matter which Ivy League school you attended) that you still wonder if God exists and, if He does, what does that mean for you, the way you live here on Earth and what will happen to you when you die. To be human is to ponder such questions.

I know God exists because of how He changed my life on the morning of March 1, 1991, beginning the transformation that continues to this day of a man who cared only about himself into somebody who actually cares about others and seeks to show it in his words and actions.

As the wonderful old hymn, “Amazing Grace,” put it, “once I was lost, but now I am saved.” The linked version of the hymn, by the way, is heavy on the bagpipes, which, if you aren’t, like me, of Scots descent, may not be your favorite form of musical instrumentation. If so, trust me, the voices of Celtic Women will more than make up for it!

There is more to these questions, of course, and I commend to your serious attention the following video featuring Kyle Butt of the Apologetics Press:
