GLIMPSES OF GOD, Episode 5: The Grandest of Makeovers in Nature

(QUICK VIEW) — It all begins with an egg slightly bigger than a pinhead located somewhere outside on a leaf of the milkweed plant. From that tiny egg comes one creature or two creatures? Good question because there is first a brightly striped caterpillar, and then somehow there appears a gorgeous monarch butterfly.

Once free of the egg, the caterpillar goes crazy, eating like there’s no tomorrow. In fact, there are only a few tomorrows before that incredible transformation happens and the caterpillar is no more. In its place is a strange bulb-like thing called a Chrysalis.

But is caterpillar really no more? There is a remarkable transformation in progress here going from land-lubbing caterpillar to odd-shaped Chrysalis to, finally, a gold and black flyer that has fascinated human beings for generation after generation.

Watch the following short video, episode number five in the John 10:10 Project’s Glimpses of God series and then ask yourself this: Why would a process of random natural selection end up in this three-step transformation without going on to a fouth?
