HILL STAFF VIEWS: Most Aides Backed Maduro Capture But …
(QUICK READ) — Fully 59 percent of those responding to the recent CNCT Capitol Pulse survey said they support President Donald Trump’s ordering of the daring U.S. military extraction of Venezuela dictator Nicolas Maduro, but there is a clear partisan split that should be noted.
Among GOP congressional aides, support for the extraction was strong at 76 percent, compared to only 21 percent among Democratic aides. Among senior GOP aides, 30 percent said they opposed the extraction, while 80 percent of the senior policy Democrats took the same position.
Interestingly, 27 percent of House Democratic aides backed the extraction, as did the same percentage of Democratic men. Curiously, while those voting “Unsure” were only 14 percent of the overall results, the figure was 30 percent for GOPers over 30 and 25 percent for Dems over 30.
