The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is Symbolized in Every Spring Bloom
If you are like me, Spring is the most exciting and energizing of the four seasons because it is all about new life, new color and new possibilities for the days ahead. The lonely cold of winter is behind and the sun’s rays have an enveloping warmth about them.
There is nothing coincidental in the fact the resurrection of Jesus Christ came and is celebrated in the Spring. He died on the cross to being new and eternal life to those who follow Him as savior. Thus, the splendid vividness of the Cherry blossom and blooming bulb of magnolia point us to our new life in Him.
There is as well the reality in Spring that, like the Resurrection, it changes everything our daily life. The dead brown grass is replaced by the most intense shades of green, the starkness of bare tree limbs against cloudy skies is supplanted by the thick layers of new leaves waving in the soft breezes. Everything has a freshness to it and a brightness that never fails to lift the spirit.
All of this is captured beautifully in the following 4:14 John 10:10 Project video courtesy of Illustra Media that combines the budding joy of Spring with the eternal truth of Psalm 23. Yesterday, the tomb was found empty. Today, new life is everywhere you look. Enjoy:
