Is God Really So Insecure and Jealous?
Ask one of the “New” Atheists like Richard Dawkins, Penn Gillette or Dan Barker about the Christian God and jealousy and you will get a recitation that leaves no room for doubt – they think Jehovah is a total and complete narcissist. Or something quite worse.
Take Dawkins, for example: “The god of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant actor in all fiction: Jealous and proud of it.” Note how Dawkins all but assumes the entirety of the Old Testament is nothing more than fiction. But wait, there’s much more to this issue than mere jealousy, as destructive as that characteristic is that every human being nevertheless has displayed to one degree or another at least once in his or her life.
