Folks who attended college during the past several decades on any of the nation’s Ivy League or state university campuses are likely to have heard — probably often — some variation on the claim that the Bible is sexist, that it demeans women as second-class citizens.
An objectively informed view of what the Bible actually says and the historical contexts in which it was written provides an entirely different conclusion, however, and one that prompts an entirely opposite understanding of the most widely read and influential book in human history.
