CONSIDER THIS: Cancel Culture Can Kill Science AND Freedom of Speech and Thought

HillFaith is devoted to presenting the amazing and deeply documented evidence for the literal resurrection of Jesus Christ and thus of the life-changing transformative power of the Christian faith.

This is what academic freedom looks like in practice. (Screenshot from YouTube).

HillFaith is also rigorously non-partisan, with staffers from both sides of the aisle participating in the “For Hill Aides Only” Monday 12:30 apologetical Bible study and other activities.

But HillFaith is also deeply committed to freedom of speech and thought in the best traditions of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This freedom applies to everybody, including devout followers of Jesus, convinced atheists who think notions of a deity absurd, and everybody in between.

This freedom is also essential to the preservation of independent scientific inquiry, and that applies to scientists who are convinced that Charles Darwin’s Theory of Natural Selection is the most brilliant insight in all of human history, as well as those scientists who see fine-tuning in the universe and conclude such intelligent design requires a divine designer.

Censorship of any of these perspectives is evil. But the truth is, this evil is growing in America in the form of “Wokeism” or “Cancel Culture” and it must be stopped if we are to maintain a society capable of intellectual courage, scientific progress and indeed the blessings of civilization.

Which brings us to former Ball State University Physics Professor Eric Heden, whose academic freedom was destroyed by censorious critics who demanded he be silenced because his views challenged theirs.

Hedin’s story is told in the following 5:53 animated video produced by the Discovery Institute. Hedin’s experience is a tragic illustration of the continuing suffocation of intellectual integrity in this country’s academic, political, social media, mainstream media, corporate communications, medical and science communities.

Think about it — today is the other guy being silenced. Tomorrow it will be you:
