Kristallnacht Began Tonight, 83 Years Ago

My friend Jeff Dunetz at The Lid reminds us that 83 years ago tonight, the Holocaust began with Kristallnacht. Hitler and his National Socialists movement — aka “Nazis” — launched systematic attacks, arrests and property destruction across Germany and the occupied portions of Czechoslovakia in 1938.

“Ninety-nine Jews were murdered, and 25,000 to 30,000 were arrested and placed in concentration camps. Two hundred and sixty-seven synagogues were destroyed, and thousands of homes and businesses were ransacked,” according to Dunetz.

Never forget. And never assume it can’t happen again.
