EASTER ISSUES 2025: 8 Old Testament Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus’ Resurrection

(FIVE-MINUTE READ) — Prophecies, fulfilled and otherwise, are a controversial topic because, if demonstrated to be credible, they make it difficult for people to avoid the realization that there is more to time than yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Easter week, beginning with Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem and culminating with His crucifixion, burial and resurrection, is a brief instant that is rich with fulfilled prophecies, as Christian.com’s Britt Monney explains.

Mooney deals specifically with eight such prophecies, including several that are drawn from the book of Psalms, which was written over a span of an estimated 1,000 years, with another 500 years then elapsing between Psalms’ completion and the birth of Jesus.

Other prophecies among the eight Mooney considers are from the book of Isaiah, which described key details of crucifixion centuries before it had become a common method of execution.

Go here for Mooney’s detailed analyses of eight of the prophecies that were fulfilled by events during Jesus’ last few days on Earth.
