FOUNDATIONS: Why Christians Should Support Limited Government

Progressives and other Leftists wasted no time in branding Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) a “Christian Nationalist” and accusing him of advocating for Christians to impose their religious faith on everybody else. Quite the opposite appears to be the case.

I say that because knowing the most basic facts about Jesus Christ and His teachings on man, Original Sin and government make it crystal clear that when He said “render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and things that are God’s to God,” he was talking about a radical separation between the two.

In the following 7:24 video from The Stream’s Foundations series, Marissa Hays expounds on why Christians should support limited government, especially at a time when so many political movements here in America and overseas are pushing for what amounts to unlimited government.

Regardless of one’s religious orientation, Hays presents the vision of a limited government that puts the highest priority on respecting the dignity, freedom and uniqueness of every human being. That’s a vision that ought to unite Christians, conservatives, libertarians and anybody else who cares about preserving individual freedom in a civilized society:
