SHERIDAN P. O’ KELLY makes the move up from Senior Legislative Assistant to Policy Adviser to Rep. Sean Casten (D-ILL). Sheridan’s first job on the Hill was Legislative Assistant to Casten, beginning in November 2023. He is a 2021 BA graduate of the University of Virginia in Media Studies and History.

Speaking of big moves, AMELIE HEBERT takes on full-time duties as Press Assistant to Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) after serving an internship in that office and, before that, serving as a Session Aide in the Louisiana State Senate. Amelie completes her BA in Political Science from Louisiana State University this year.

BYRN DUBIN returns to the Hill to serve as Legislative Correspondent for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). Previously, Byrn was Health Policy Fellow for Capitol Counsel LLC and she has also previously served as an Intern in 2023 for Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.). Her BA in Political Science was awarded last year by the University of Florida and she expects to complete her MPA from the LBJ School of Public Affairs in December.

HARSHMAN SHIRA moves into Health Policy Assistant duties working for Rep. Emilia Sykes (D-Ohio) after a year on the other side of the Hill doing similar work for Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt). He received his BA in Medicine, Health and Society from the University of Cinncinati.

MOVING ON:

MAGGIE WALDROP heads over to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the Assistant for Public Affairs as a Special Assistant in Media Relations. Maggie heads to HHS after serving Rep. William Timmons (R-SC) as Press Secretary. Maggie earned her BA in Public Relations, Political Science and Government from the University of Alabama last year.

DOMINIC PORCELLA is the new Policy Director for Center Forward, the non-profit that specializes in finding moderate solutions to policy problems. Dominic previously served as Legislative Assistant to Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-NY). Dominic earned his MA in Philosophy from the New School in 2017 and his BA in Philosophy and Politics from Catholic University in 2015.
