DAKOTA GORDON – Has come a long way from the little town of Coleman, Oklahoma, taking over as Press Assistant/Legislative Correspondent for Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI). Dakota comes to the Hill from the Michigan state legislature in Lansing where he was Media Liaison and Communications Adviser for GOP State Rep. Rachelle Smit. He expects to complete his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2027. He received his BS in Communications and Media Studies in 2020 from Middle Tennessee State University.

SEAN ROBERT SIMONS — Making the big jump from the private sector back to the Hill, Sean is the new Communications Director for Sen. John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.). Previously, he was Senior Manager for Communications with Gates Ventures. Back in 2014, Sean was Legislative Correspondent for Rep. Bill Owens (D-NY). Sean is a 2013 graduate of Mary Washington College with a BA in Political Science.
BRENNA MCCONNELL — House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has a new Research Assistant for the panel’s GOP staff. Brenna is taking on her first employment challenge on the Hill. She is a 2024 graduate of Colgate University with a BA in French.

That bright new face in the office of Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) is that of new Communications Director JACKIE MCGUINNESS. She is a presidential administration veteran, having been Communications Director for the White House Office of Science and Technology and Press Secretary at NASA, both during Joe Biden’s Oval Office tenure. Jackie was awarded a BS in Political Science in 2016 from Middlebury College.
