HILL STAFF VIEWS: How Congressional Aides View Trump (You May Be Surprised!)

(QUICK READ) — Okay, it’s true asking a bunch of self-identified Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill how they view President Donald Trump’s first six months in office probably seems like a “dog bites man” story.

It just ain’t news, right?

Well, check out the following results from the recent CNCT Capitol Pulse poll that asked that very question to a whole bunch of aides working on both sides of the Hill and representing both major political parties. The results just be contain a surprise or three!

Asked if they would give Trump an A, B, C or F for his first half-year in the Oval Office, 39 percent of the responding Republicans said they would give Trump an A, compared to just three percent of Democrats.

But check this out: Among Republican staff operations types, Trump got the A from 47 percent and from 10 percent of the Democrats! Yes, one of every 10 Hill Democratic aides said Trump is doing A work.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, 94 percent of the Democrats under 30 gave Trump a fat, stinking F, while 14 percent of the GOP Senate aides did the same. Yes, a little more than one of every 10 Senate Republican staffers view Trump as a failure.

In the middle, only 40 percent of the GOP aides under 30 gave Trump a B, as did 35 percent of the GOP senior policy types. On the Democrat side, 14 percent of the Senior policy Democrat aides rated Trump a complete failure.
