HILL STAFF VIEWS: Slightly Less Than Half of Staffers Think Their Boss Deserves a Raise
Not quite half, 49 percent to be exact, of all staffers responding to the latest CNCT Capitol Pulse survey said they believe their bosses should get a pay raise in the 119th Congress. Almost as many, 47 percent, think Members do not deserve fatter paychecks.
What’s really surprising here, though, is the lack of partisan disagreement among those on both sides of the issue. Among the 49 percent who support a raise 52 percent Democrats and 48 percent Republicans.
It was even closer among the 47 percent who opposed a raise for senators and representatives, with 46 percent being Democrats and the same 46 percent being GOP staffers.
