HILLFAITH POLL: Should All Hill Staffers Undergo Background Checks?

Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Russell Honore told CNN earlier this week that he would support mandatory background checks for all congressional staffers.

“We made recommendations that everyone coming into the Capitol give background checks, the entire Congressional staff,” Honoré told CNN. “We do think that everyone going into the Capitol, that works there, should have complete background checks and we need to improve the ability to process people with vestibules outside of the Capitol so people can comes in, be quickly screened and go through using the best technology.”

His comment came during a discussion of security weaknesses exposed by the January 6 Capitol breach by protestors and the April 2 car-attack that killed one Capitol Hill Police Officer and seriously injured another.

What do you think about Honore’s suggestion? No need to tell us your name, just tell your opinion. HillFaith will share the results once they are compiled.
