TESTIMONIES: From Atheist Scientist To Scientist And Follower Of Jesus Christ (2)
If you’ve ever heard the phrase “Red Diaper Baby,” you will perhaps recognize the reference to somebody born in the 1940s or 1950s whose parents were members of the U.S. Communist Party in the pre-WWII era. Dr. Sy Garte was a Red Diaper Baby.
As a result, he grew up in a home in which the idea of God was utterly rejected. Being dedicated Marxists, his parents taught Garte that the material world was all there is and that the idea of God was utterly ridiculous. Garte became a scientist and an avowed atheist himself.
But today Garte is a devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, thanks in great part to what he read in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. He explained in detail how this happened in his book, “The Works of His Hands: A Scientist’s Journey From Atheism To Faith.”
