Can You Really Come to Faith While Working in a Science Lab?
Dr. John Bloom teaches physics at Biola University and has two Phds, one in physics and the other in Near Middle Eastern Studies. Kind of a rare combination, but he also did a lot of work and study in chemistry, “Why not,” he chuckles, anticipating perhaps a logical question.

Bloom grew up in a conservative Presbyterian church but faith was nothing more than some things “you just checked off” as stuff you believe, and that made you a “Christian.” But once he was off to college, Bloom learned very quickly that he didn’t really know much at all about being a follower of Jesus Christ.
Then came a certain biology lab and a lab partner who actually had a deep and meaningful relationship with the Lord. Bloom explains in the following “Reasons to Believe” interview with Dr. Kenneth Samples how a lab partner made all the difference:
