Bet You Didn’t Know There’s 18 Trillion Feet of You!

If 18 trillion feet sounds like a lot, it is, it is almost incomprehensible. But as the following video from the John 10:10 Project demonstrates, the figure is a measure of the total DNA strands in the three trillion cells that make up one human body. Stretched end-to-end, the DNA strands for one human being would cover 3.5 billion miles.

But if that sounds totally incredible, this fact will utterly blow you away: Within the nucleus of each of those three trillion calls is six feet of DNA strand wound so tightly and perfectly that it fits into a space that is 140,000 times smaller than the head of a pin. By comparison, the microscopic transistors on the microchip of your laptop are giants.

So ask yourself, is it even possible to calculate the odds that the level of sophisticated nano-engineering required to create such a DNA strand for one cell, much less for three trillion cells?

And we haven’t even mentioned the fact that there are more than 7.3 billion human beings alive today. This John 10:10 Project animated video is only 6.23 minutes in length, but it could change the way you think about yourself and this universe in which we live:
