EASTER WEEK TUESDAY: Maybe You Should Consider the Evidence for the Resurrection
Here are some interesting questions to ponder: What would our country look like today if the South had won the Civil War in 1865 instead of the North? What if nobody read or cared about those 95 Theses that Martin Luther posted on the door? What if digital coding didn’t work?
Each of those three questions point us to the huge significance of historical facts. Slavery might still be found in America today had the South won. Without Luther’s Reformation, there’s no Protestant work ethic or capitalism. As for digital coding, can you imagine your life without your cell phone or laptop?
Those are huge “what if” questions but they pale by comparison to this one: What if Jesus really was crucified dead, buried and then made alive — resurrected — on the third day?
If that happened with the same historical certitude that you and I were born on a particular day, then everything Jesus said about Himself must be true, including this:
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6. That changes everything. What you and I say about Jesus makes an eternal difference.
So, it’s Easter Week and perhaps it’s time for you to consider the historical facts that point to the Resurrection being an actual, verifiable event that occurred somewhere around 30-33 AD? This video is less than 10 minutes long but it is packed with facts and logic that will help you come to your own conclusions:
