EXPLAIN THIS: Five Historical Evidences for the Literal Resurrection of Jesus Christ
Is the Resurrection of Jesus Christ important? Paul the Apostle said if Jesus Christ was not actually resurrected on the third day after His crucifixion, then Christians are the biggest fools of all. Put otherwise, without a risen Jesus Christ, there is no hope for Christians, or anybody else.
And what about the other possibility – that He really was resurrected? If that is case, then everything He said must be taken very seriously, especially John 14:6 where He said “I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but through me.”
As Erik Manning of Is Jesus Alive? makes clear in the following video, belief in the Resurrection is indeed an historical fact, an event that literally took place and was verified by a host of credible sources and evidence. It was not a mass hallucination or a fable purposely manufactured to deceive.
Then the question becomes: What will you do with Him?
The point of the Judeo-Christian faith (say Jesus and Moses) is to love God and neighbor. The fact that a few people over the centuries have lived accordingly is evidence enough that Jesus is alive. It seems churlish, and futile, to demand more.
Besides — if we take this commandment seriously, how much time will be left for pseudo-scientific theorizing?
