JAMES MISMASH moves up from Military Legislative Assistant to National Security Adviser for Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wisc.). Michael earned his BA in Government and History in 2021 from the University of Texas at Austin where he was also a journalist working for the Texas Orator and the Daily Texan.

There is a new Legislative Assistant working for Sen. Angus King (I-Me.) and her name is MARIELLE THETE, marking her return to the Maine Independent’s Senate staff, after more than two years as Director of U.S. Government Relations with ONE Campaign. Marielle served in various positions on the Maine senator’s staff from 2016 to 2019. She is a 2016 graduate of Wheaton College in Political Science and International Relations.

XAVIER ZAPATA gets the nod as Legislative Assistant for Rep. Seth Magaziner (D-R.I.). Xavier comes to the Magaziner office following a stint as International Policy Specialist at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. Xavier is a 2016 graduate of California Polytechnic State Institute in Political Science, Global Politics and Psychology and a 2018 graduate of New York University with an MS in Global Affairs and Transnational Security.
