IAN MARIANI made the big jump back in February from the House side where he was Senior Adviser/Communications Director for Rep. Salud Carbajal (D-Calif.) to National Press Secretary for Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.). And now Ian moves into the Communications Director slot for the Golden State senator. Ian is a 2014 graduate of Occidental College with a BA in Politics, Diplomacy and World Affairs.

STEPHANIE PENN is the new Communications Director for Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky). Before being promoted to the new slot, Stephanie was McConnell’s Press Secretary. She has been with the Kentucky Republican through thick and thin, since 2009 when she signed on as a Staff Assistant. Stephanie is a 2009 BS graduate of the University of Louisville in Business Administration and Marketing.

The new guy on the GOP staff of the Senate Finance Committee is MICHAEL HAWTHORNE who returns to the Hill as Tax Counsel after three years with Patton Boggs. Prior to his time with that highly esteemed law firm, Michael was Law Clerk for Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC) on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Michael is a 2019 Magna Cum Laude graduate of George Washington University with a BA in Political Science and Government. His law degree was awarded by the George Washington University Law School in 2022.
