HILL STAFF VIEWS: More Than Half (53 Percent) of Staffers Are Single

(QUICK READ) — More than half of the responding Hill staffers in the latest CNCT Capitol Pulse survey said they are single, and fully 45 percent of those said they are “single, looking.”

Perhaps surprisingly, there are slightly more single Republican aides “looking” (45 percent) than Democrats (42 percent.) The partisan difference is even more pronounced among GOP Junior Policy aides at 61 percent. Among Democrats under 30, 43 percent said they are looking.

Interestingly enough, Democrats who described themselves as “in a relationship” outnumbered GOPers by a healthy margin, 42 percent to 33 percent. But among responding aides who said they are married, Democrats and Republicans compiled the same percentage at 13 percent.

Overall, only eight percent of the respondents said they are single but not looking for a relationship. That included nine percent GOPers, and three percent Democrats.

One more thing — CNCT Capitol Pulse advises that “the Hill is full of ready-to-mingle singles! Beware of some unspoken preferences, though.” Be sure and check out those unspoken preferences because there are some real eye-openers there!
