If I Ask You A Serious Question, Will You Give Me A Brutally Honest Answer?
Dr. Frank Turek of cross-examined.org and “I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist” fame contends that the Elephant in the Room underlying debates between atheists/agnostics and Christians is the fact that if God does indeed exist, then there is such a thing as binding morality.
Problem is, thanks to original sin, according to the Bible, we humans don’t want to be bound by any morality except whatever we decide in any given moment happens to be “moral.” Put otherwise, we want to live by our own rules, not those of the God who created us and ultimately will hold us to account for what we did with the lives He gave us.
Turek suggests the way to get that Elephant out in the open is to ask two serious questions:
- If I ask you a serious spiritual question, will you give me a brutally honest answer?
- If Christianity is true, will you become a Christian?
Now, before you answer that first question, check out this short video from Turek in which he provides quick summaries of the evidence for four questions that he argues make it clear that God exists and Christianity is true.
