HARTLEY VOSS is the new Speechwriter for the Democrats on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, chaired by Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ). Hartley has a BA in Communications from American University and an MFA in Cinematic Arts from the University of Southern California. Hartley is formerly a Researcher for “Mad Men” and “Orange is the New Black,” as well as a free lance Writer for Netflix, CBS Studios, NBC Universal, among others.

Taking on the duties of Chief of Staff for Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX) for the second time is STEVE RUHLEN, after nearly four years as a Partner at Total Spectrum. Steve is a Capitol Hill veteran, having also formerly served as Chief of Staff for Representatives Henry Bonila, Lee Terry and Pete Olson, all Texas Republicans. Steve is a 1985 graduate of the University of Texas with a BA in History.

Speaking of Capitol Hill veterans making return appearances, MELISSA BENNETT moves in as the new Scheduler for Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio). She previously served as the Ohio Republican’s Scheduler from 1993 to 2001 when Portman was in the House of Representatives. Melissa also served as a Scheduler for President George W. Bush and was in various White House positions throughout his two terms. Melissa is a 1991 graduate of Marietta College in Journalism.
