JOE BALLARD is the new face in the office of Rep. Kelly Armstrong (R-ND), moving into the Legislative Assistant position. Previously, Joe was Legislative Assistant/Operations Director for Rep. Myra Flores (R-Texas). Joe received his MA in Economics from the University of Alabama in 2020 and his BS in Finance and Economics from the same institution the same year.

MARY ELLEN RICHARDSON advances as Chief of Staff for Rep. Darrell LaHood (R-Ill.) after serving previously in the same office as Legislative Director. Mary Ellen’s Capitol Hill career began in 2014 as Outreach Director for Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Ill.). She received her JD from the John Marshall Law School in 2015 and her BA in Political Science from Notre Dame in 2012.
SARA KUGLER has in the past worked as Senior Legislative Manager for Federal Affairs for MoveOn and as a Legislative Aide for Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). Now Sara can be found working as Senior Adviser for Labor Policy for Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt) on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Sara earned her BA in Latin American Studies from Tulane University in 2012 and expects to complete her JD in 2026 from Georgetown University Law School.
