Two Congressional Aides Also Died In Accident That Killed Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.)

Zachary Potts had been District Director for Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) since January of 2020 and was a Field Representative for her for more than a year before that. Emma Thomson had been Walorski’s Communications Director since July of last year, and previously performed the same role for Rep. John Joyce (R-Pa.).

Emma Thomson, RIP.

Both Potts and Thomson died in the two-car automobile crash in her district Wednesday afternoon that Walorski. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the head-on collision was also killed.

The Indiana Republican was first elected to the House of Representatives in the 2012 election.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) issued a statement, saying “Jackie was killed in a car accident this afternoon. She has returned home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Chris. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.”

Tim Cummings, Walorski’s Chief of Staff, described Potts and Thomson as “the epitome of public servants who cared deeply about the work they performed.”

HillFaith joins in mourning the loss of Walorski, Thomson and Potts, all three of whom were devoted to serving America in the best sense of the ideal of public service.
