WHAT WOULD YOU SAY? Was Jesus JUST a Great Moral Teacher?

You’re in a conversation with a colleague and the conversation edges into a discussion of spiritual topics. Maybe you’ve mentioned that you attended church on Sunday, that you read the Bible regularly or that you are volunteering at a soup kitchen managed by a local ministry.

In response, your colleague declares that “I think Jesus was obviously a great moral teacher, but all that stuff about Him being resurrected from the grave and being God is just a bunch of accumulated traditions.”

How would you respond to your colleague’s declaration, which makes clear that he or she is not a follower of Jesus Christ? Are you, as a Christian, prepared to “give a ready defense for the hope that is within you,” as Scripture says at I Peter 3:15?
