Do a search on amazon.com for “Bible” and a bewildering number of translations and editions appeared, so many that it can be an all-but-impossible challenge for someone who is new to the world’s best-selling book ever to make a choice.
And adding to the confusion is the fact that, while there are more, earlier copies of the original manuscripts in existence for the Bible than for any other document from the ancient world, there are some differences, depending upon the data of the copy and the languages from and to which the translation is made.
