Where Have I Been Since September 14

Among the great blessings the Lord has bestowed on me is the fact that I have rarely found myself running on empty when it comes to writing. And trust me, as somebody who has made his living pounding away on a keyboard for five decades, having only occasionally encountered such a time is an immense blessing.

HillFaith is moving forward, powered by the grace of Almighty God.

The fact is, though, even I am not immune from such experiences and the last several weeks have been one such dry spell. As a measure of how deeply the Lord has blessed me in this regard is the fact I don’t recall the last time I found myself in such a desert.

Writing, whether it be the straight news reporting I’ve done since 1985 for various media outlets, including the Washington Times and the Epoch Times, composing the opinion columns I did for many years at the Washington Examiner and the Heritage Foundation, or the analyses and commentaries here for HillFaith, is always a sharing of one’s self and a labor.

A sharing of one’s thoughts, ideas, flaws and hopes, that is, and a labor performed in hopes of providing something useful, informative or perhaps even inspiring to whoever happens to be reading your work at any given moment. I love what Mark Twain replied to a correspondent who complained about the length of his most recent letter – “I would have written less if I’d had more time.”

But now the dry place is blessedly behind me and HillFaith is back up to speed. In the weeks ahead, you can again count on a daily dose of everything that makes HillFaith among the most unique web sites in all of Christendom. And whether you agree or disagree with what I write here, please remember that it is composed and offered in the hope of providing something of value.

God bless and enjoy!

Glad the writer’s block is behind you, Mark. Five decades without that being an issue is remarkable. God is good and welcome back!

Thank you, Dean, I always appreciate your comments, here and elsewhere.

Welcome back. As a retired lawyer, I know the feeling. Reminds me of the time I spent nearly all night trying fruitlessly to draft a brief that “marched well”. Ended at four AM with a hodge podge for my secretary to figure out.JimB

You must have been blessed with a great secretary, Jim!

To wander in the wilderness is sometimes good for the mind, body and soul. I do not have the patience or clarity to put my thoughts into the written word. Mostly it comes out like a lawn sprinkler in the rain. But in these anxious times we need men such as yourself. To spread the word that there is hope. Jesus Is the answer to most every question if we can only keep our eyes fixed there. You are to be commended for attempting this from within the belly of the beast.

Perhaps, Greg, the Lord has gifted you with the ability to speak to others about the hope within you, as we read at I Peter 3:15?

Maybe what God had in mind was a time of quiet…. I’ll bet there was a lot of listening going on.
