LONG STORY SHORT: Is Homology Evidence for Evolution Without God?

Have you ever compared the structure of your foot with that of your dog’s paws?

Probably not, but Charles Darwin did a lot of that kind of thinking, which is known among science nerds as “Homology.” That’s the study of “the similarity of the structure, physiology, or development of different species of organisms based upon their descent from a common evolutionary ancestor,” according to the Discovery Institute.

Darwin studied homology for years and concluded the similarities are part of the evidence for the universal descent of all life-forms on Earth from a single common ancestor. Uniform Common Descent is a foundational principle of naturalistic evolution, the most common explanation for the origin of life among those who prefer not to include God in the process.

But the following video, the first of Discovery Science’s “Long Story Short” series, suggests that maybe there’s more to Homology than Darwin or any of his contemporary adherents realize. It’s just under eight minutes long and I promise you it will give you something to think about:
