MIRACLES BY DESIGN: You Don’t Get Monarch Butterflies by Chance

(28 MINUTE VIEWING) — If you’ve ever seen a Monarch butterfly fluttering around your yard in the Spring, odds are good you gave it a momentary look, perhaps remarked on its unmistakeable beauty, then went about the business of your day.

But, as Discovery Institute Senior Fellow Dr. Paul Nelson explains in the following 28:35 video of his recent lecture at the 2025 Dallas Conference on Science and Faith hosted by the Discovery Institute, the miracle of butterfly transformation simply cannot happen by repetitive accident:

“The pupa and the butterfly and all of its beauty and precision engineering was built by a cause that knew where it was going and in our universal experience that is a mind,” Nelson summarized

Put another way, beauty of such complexity and precision doesn’t just happen, there must be intent behind its organization, timing, location and functions.

As Nelson notes, for example, there is one specific place in Mexico where the Monarchs always go back to during mating season. Do you think that fact can be repeated year after year by chance or design:

Skeptical? It’s a bit longer than HillFaith’s typical video, but it’s Sunday afternoon, so take a little time to watch, think, and evaluate. Even if you ultimately disagree, it will be time well-spent:
