HILL STAFF NEWS: InterFaith Staff Prayer Room Dedicated
Chaplain of the House, the Reverend Dr. Margaret Grun Kibben welcomed a steady stream of visitors Thursday to the newly opened InterFaith Staff Prayer Room located in 467 Cannon House Office Building.

House Chaplain Margaret Grun Kibben, left, pauses for a moment with HillFaith’s Mark Tapscott.
The Prayer Room is intended to provide a quiet place where congressional aides and interns can step back a few minutes from the constant pressure of legislative deadlines, constituent calls and requests, the constant flow of correspondence, dealing with journalists and lobbyists, and the thousand other tasks that make working on Capitol Hill for a senator, representative, committee or administrative office.
The Prayer Room is a comfortably outfitted retreat that can accommodate a modest crowd or just one praying staffer. It could also be an excellent place for groups of aides to gather for regular activities such as Bible studies.
HillFaith will be making meaningful use of the Prayer Room very soon with the resumption of Rock Wednesday, the once-a-month early morning gathering of staffers who come together to pray for each other, their bosses, the country and colleagues. Stay tuned for more information on Rock Wednesday, which HillFaith proudly co-hosts with Faith & Liberty.
