HILL STAFF NEWS: Most of Surveyed Aides Say Religion Plays Positive Role in American Life

Considering the accumulating survey data from Barna, Gallup and other pollsters showing a marked decline in recent years in the number of Americans who regularly attend church (i.e. at least twice a month), a recent finding on how congressional aides view the role of religion in American life may well come as a surprise.

The recent weekly question put to hundreds of Hill aides by CNCT asked on how they view religion’s influence in our country’s life. More than three-fourths, 78 percent, of the respondents said they view religion’s influence positively.

Interestingly, 100 percent of the aides working for GOP senators and representatives gave the position response, while less than half, 48 percent, of those working for Democrats did so. Among Independents, 75 percent responded positively.

Among aides aged 30 and above, 82 percent were positive, while 79 percent of those under 30 did so. Women aides made up 30 percent of those responding negatively, while 14 percent of them were men.

If you work on the Hill, or anywhere else in the government for that matter, and aren’t familiar with CNCT, you should be because it is a great networking app, as well as a solid source of timely information about where to go, what to do and who to do it with. Go here for the app.

And yes, I am biased on this score, being among the original boosters of CNCT ever since I met its creator, David Tennent, in 2020 shortly after he made the decision to leave his Hill job and make the leap to digital entrepreneur.
