EMILY BENAVIDES returns to Capitol Hill after a two-year absence to assume duties as Chief of Staff for Rep. Bob Latta (R-Ohio). Previously, Emily was Communications Director for Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) on the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee. Emily is a 2010 graduate of Johns Hopkins University with an MA in Government and a 2007 BA graduate from William & Mary University, also in Government. Welcome back, Emily!
TOMMY MATTOCKS is also returning to Capitol Hill after a four-year absence, moving into the Communications Director position for Rep. Don Davis (D-NC). Before heading back to D.C., Tommy handled communications for the North Carolina Democratic Party. He is also a former CD for Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-Va.). Tommy is a 2015 graduate of Appalachian State University with a BA in Political Science.
JONATHAN BLACK hooks up with Sen. Ben Ray Lujan (D-NM) as Senior Policy Adviser. Jonathan previously served in the Biden administration as Senior Director for Chemical Safety and Plastic Pollution Prevention on the White House Council on Environmental Quality. He is a 2001 MA graduate in International Affairs from George Washington University, and a 1999 BA graduate in History from the University of Richmond.
