ELIZA RAMIREZ is the new National Security Adviser to Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-NM). Before moving onto the Gallego staff, Eliza served as Chief of Staff to the Assistant Administrator for Legislative and Public Affairs at USAID. She’s also worked on the staffs of Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-NJ) and multiple other Democrats on the Hill.
Eliza has an MA in Defense and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and an MA in American Government and Politics from George Washington University, plus a BA in Political Science and Women’s Studies from the California State University, Fullerton, in 2012.
WHIT BLOUNT moves into the Legislative Assistant slot in the office of Rep. Marie Salazar (R-Fla.) after serving a three-year stint as an Associate for the Economic Policy Practice Group at Invariant. Whit is a 2022 BA graduate in Political Science and Government from George Washington University.
AUSTIN GRAHAM takes a big step up with his promotion to Legislative Director for Rep. Brian Steil (R-Wisc.), after serving a stint as Senior Legislative Assistant. Prior to joining the Steil staff in 2022, Austin labored as a Legislative Correspondent for Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.). He is a 2021 BA graduate in Political Science and Government from the University of Missouri.
