HILL STAFF VIEWS: Three-Quarters of All Hill Staff Back Social Media Ban for Minors

(QUICK READ) — There aren’t many issues on which big, bipartisan majorities of congressional staffers are united, but that changes big-time when it comes to proposals to ban minors from access to social media.

Fully 70 percent of aides responding to a recent CNCT Capitol Pulse survey said they back such proposals. Breaking out the data shows 79 percent support for the ban among GOP men and 60 percent among Democrat staffers. The numbers are equally big among GOP women working on the Hill at 88 percent, and 63 percent among Democratic aides under the age of 30.

Among the 30 percent of aides overall responding in opposition to a ban on social media access for minors, 54 percent of them were Democratic women, 40 percent were Republicans and 27 percent were senior GOP policy aides.
