SUNDAY SONGS: Matthew West “Unashamed”
(3:44 VIEWING) — How deeply do you hold your convictions about the most important things in this life? Will you stand up for your beliefs even at the cost of friendships, popularity, or jobs?
This is what Matthew West sings about in “Unashamed.”
Matthew West, Christian music artist extraordinaire.
For the follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, this question is of central importance. Jesus Christ came to die for your sins and mine. His disciples literally saw, touched and talked to Him after His death, burial and resurrection, then told the whole known world that Jesus lives.
All but one of them died violent deaths, and the one, John, who didn’t die of violence passed into eternity while in exile on the Isle of Patmos. The disciples’ witness is immensely important evidence that Jesus is exactly what He claimed to be, “the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but through Me.”
People don’t die for what they know to be a falsehood. The disciples stood their ground, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the living Lord and Savior for those who follow Him, even when it meant they faced horrendous deaths.
How about you? Will you stand your ground for your convictions at any cost? Are your convictions worth that determination?
