TESTIMONIES: Finding Jesus Led to Big Changes for the Better for Dr. Jim Small

(11:25 VIEWING) — Dr. Jim Small grew up in family that was mostly atheistic but tolerant of “religion as a crutch for those who needed it.” Very early in life, he developed a passionate interest in dinosaurs and biological sciences.

There was also a period in his early childhood when Small worried endlessly about his own mortality. It didn’t help that his parents had nothing to offer in response except the reassurance that “well, everybody dies.” That didn’t help at all because, he explains, “I didn’t care if everybody else dies, what about me? That’s what I cared about.”

Then he met his wife and had a little girl and going to church. That’s when he encountered Jesus and realized “it is an honor to study the Book of Nature, and there’s another book, the Book of Scripture and they have the same author.”

This testimony appears on Aspiring Christian, a great You Tube site that includes multiple testimonies from folks who come from atheist or agnostic backgrounds, and much more to fascinate, challenge and instruct anybody with an open mind and an inquiring spirit:

🙂 One time after I hadn’t spoken to an old friend for many years, and mentioned that I’d become a Christian, her response was, ‘Well, if you need that crutch.’ That is how some view it, not realizing just what they are missing out on.
