TESTIMONIES: From Apatheism to Knowing God
Mary Jo Sharp was a convinced atheist, or more precisely as an “apatheist.” It was not simply that she did not believe there is a God she could know and relate to, but rather the issue of the existence of a divine being of any sort was simply not relevant to her daily life growing up.

Mary Jo Sharp’s father was a fan of the atheist pop science figure Carl Sagan and it was that perspective that shaped her childhood and early teen years view of reality. But even as listened to Sagan and other similar voices, the vastness of the universe planted questions in her mind.
