TESTIMONIES: God Told Josh It Was Time to Put Down the Booze and Be a Man

(6:09 VIEWING) — Josh Clendening found a temporary peace and relief from a seriously dysfunctional home life when he started drinking as a young teen. Like so many other young men and women, it was that false sense of escape that launched him down the path so familiar to recovering alcoholics.

Josh drank and partied through graduation, then continued doing so through a series of jobs that came and went. He also married and had a daughter. Then he joined the Air Force and ultimately ended up assigned to the elite crew of the Air Force Thunderbirds exhibition team.

But the heavy travel schedule that came with the Thunderbirds took its toll and the marriage failed. But the booze kept “working,” it just steadily took more and more to get to back to that safe place.

God has blessed me with 34 years of sobriety after living an early adult life very much like that Josh experienced. In the following 6:09 video from the 700 Club, Josh explains how he found the key to overcoming his addiction and experiencing the profound transformation that comes from accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior:
