TESTIMONIES: Marcus Dreamed of Playing Division 1 College Football, But Then Jesus Gave Him a Bigger Dream
(4:38 VIEWING) — Marcus Smith grew up in a beautiful rural part of Wisconsin and he grew up loving football and dreaming of some day playing for a Big 10 university at the Division 1 level of college football.

But there came a time when he realized he was living a double life; professing on the outside to be a Christian but on the inside something very different. An encounter with Matthew 7:21-23 where Jesus tells the hypocrite “I never knew you, depart from me” changed everything for Marcus.
He did play college football, but at Wheaton College rather than a bigger school, but Marcus is in ministry now and on the journey that God gave him for life.
“He gave me a better dream than I could have dreamed up for myself growing up,” he explains near the end of the following testimony from Ligonier Ministries.
