Some of the horrors he witnessed in that time caused him to wonder what difference it made for the Jews to be God’s chosen people.

After his military service, Israel went into sales and found himself traveling the world. On one of those trips, he met and married his wife to whom he is married to this day. And on another trip, he was given a Bible by one of his customers, but never paid it much mind.
But then on a trip in which he found himself in a strange town and unable to secure accommodations, he stopped his car at a service station, went in to buy some things, and started talking to the owner. That conversation changed his life forever:
