‘The Chosen’ Director Dallas Jenkins Answers Questions About His Faith, How the Show Is Done and Much More
Lots of people working on congressional staffs are watching “The Chosen,” the amazing, crowd-supported, Internet-based series on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The series has reached unprecedented millions of viewers and is by far the most successful such program ever.
With success, however, comes inevitable controversies, rumors and allegations, so there are questions floating around “out there” about “The Chosen,” especially regarding producer Dallas Jenkins, the relationship between Scripture and the show’s scripts, and much else.
“We are not trying to please or seek approval of anyone or any group, including commenters on social media or critics, and there have been many,” Jenkins explains in the following video. ”
“I’ve ben called a heretic for working with people of other faith groups or traditions, or for sitting down to discuss the show with them on video, and I’ve been called a blasphemer by some members of those other faiths,” Jenkins continues.
“So when you are concerned that I am working someone or talking to someone of a different denomination or faith tradition, believe me, they’ve got people asking them why are they working with me. But I am okay with that, As long as I am doing the right thing before God, I don’t mind being criticized. The only one I am seeking the approval of is God.”
Jenkins has much more to say, more questions to answer, so enjoy the following video, which runs just under 11 minutes:
