THINK ABOUT THIS: Would You Save Your Drowning Dog or a Drowning Stranger?

So you are sitting at the end of a pier on a lake and you see your dog struggling in the water. You love your dog and seeing him in distress alarms you. But then you also see a man you don’t know struggling in the water nearby. If you don’t act, both your dog and the stranger will drown.

Your decision becomes ever more complicated when you realize you only have one life preserver on hand and you aren’t a very good swimmer. Plus, you have no idea how deep the water is where your dog and the stranger are about to go under the last time.

As Kyle Butt of the Apologetics Press explains in the following 6:29 video, you are facing a moral dilemma: You can only save one life, so which life should you save? This is an easy decision to make, you cry, you save the man!

Well, consider this: If all life, human and animal, is a product of nothing but matter in motion, then why does it matter whether you save your dog or the stranger first? You dog is your best buddy, right? And the stranger, well, for all you know he’s a thief and a murderer!

By the way, my wife and I have two dogs, Hershey, a chocolate Lab, and Olive, a Yorkie, both of which we adore. Hershey is our fifth Lab, while Olive is our first Yorkie. So, check out how Kyle solves this moral dilemma:

I have an older friend, she is retired. When I have asked her this question she has always said she would save her beloved dog.
I was shocked by this. I then told her that in that case, should a stranger save his dog instead of her grandchild she should not be upset with his choice.
She had no response to that.

If the stranger dies isn’t he going to meet God? If you save him you are preventing him from meeting God. How do you know it’s not God’s will that he dies and you are interfering with what God’s plan? If the stranger is wicked he will go to Hell, and the sooner the better.

As an aside: Always amused me about Christians trying to find the Holy Grail to give them immortality. If you are immortal, you don’t die, and you have to die to go to heaven and meet God. Seems to be the opposite of what Christians say they want. They want to go to heaven but just not now. Later maybe, but not now.

Come to think of it how is the dog going to use the life preserver? And if you aren’t a good swimmer won’t you need the life preserver?
Here is the solution. Throw the life preserver to the guy. It saves him, then he saves the dog. The dog goes home with him because the dog doesn’t like you anymore.

In fact, your soul does NOT die when your body expires.

Well, wnen people tell me that I treat my dogs like they are my children…..thats because they ARE my children!!! The only way I can explain my feelings for my dogs is to tell people, “if my dogs were starving to death and a stranger was starving to death, I would let the stranger die and feed him to my dogs”!!!
