TOUGH QUESTIONS: Why Did God Command Killing In The Bible? John Lennox Responds

NEW REGULAR FEATURE:  This post is the first of what will be a HillFaith series devoted to answering tough questions about God, the Bible, Christians, Jesus Christ and His followers assembled in the church. This initial installment features Oxford Mathematics Professor John Lennox, but readers should expect a wide variety of men and women addressing the tough questions in future installments.

(10:56 VIDEO) — There are several passages in the Old Testament in which God commands death for individuals and groups of people in what can be read as unjust, especially when women, children and domestic animals are included.

Those passages give rise to what appears to be a tough question for followers of the Christian God to answer: How can a good god command such evil actions and credibly continue to claim to be the absolute source of moral law that obligates every human being?

And who better to address this tough question than Oxford Mathematics Professor John Lennox, one of the world’s most respected and widely acclaimed Christian apologists. This video is a bit long at just under 11 minutes and Lennox covers a lot of ground, so keep a close ear on this one, and then share your reactions in the comments.
